safefood consulting has joined eBiz as our food safety specialty group. The companies first worked together five or six years ago, and a mutual respect and positive working relationship has been sustained during that time. The staff have relocated to the eBiz offices, and the daily interchange among us all has led to new understanding about the relationship between food safety and biosecurity practices, and the role of traceability in assisting their delivery. In particular, the change aspects of adoption of these practices, both in individual behaviour and in work processes is an area of developing understanding among our combined personnel.
Ben Chapman, Katija Morley, Katie Filion and Mike Van Ninhuys are continuing their valuable program development and field support work for clients among producers and producer groups in horticulture, tree fruit, tenderfruit and other sectors. Ben is pursuing breakthrough research with food service organizations, particularly with respect to food handling practices, and is actively involved in analyzing outbreaks and providing commentary on outbreak management and communications.
Links to the international research community ensure that safefood consulting staff have ready access to the latest and best in research, and can draw on the expertise of international leaders in food safety, agricultural technologies, and related issues.
