At the on-farm food safety and traceability information day titled “Agriculture Responding to Change – How food safety and traceability are influencing the change of the farm” eBiz’s Ben Chapman was selected to speak. This was the first information day for industry to address these issues, and included speakers from all aspects of industry. Ben presented two compelling talks, the first titled “Motivating Behaviour Change at the Farm”, which discussed the importance of fostering a food safety culture compelling all individuals in the farm to fork chain; and the second titled “Multi-commodity Farms: Unique food safety risks”, addressing the different steps these farms need to take to ensure a safe product. Participants of the event included industry leaders, public health officials, federal partners and OMAFRA staff.
